Protecting our Veterans
It is my great honor to serve a congressional district that is home to two of our nation's finest military installations, thousands of active duty and reserve personnel, and nearly 16,000 military retirees.
Working on behalf of our service members and veterans is a top priority of mine, and continues to be one of the most rewarding parts of my job. It is critically important that we do all we can to care for our veterans and ensure the integrity of their service and sacrifice. Having personally observed our military at work around the world, I know we owe our men and women in uniform a debt of gratitude.
We’ve made significant progress improving the Central Alabama VA that serves our area, but much more work remains.
Improving services in Alabama for our veterans will always remain top priority of mine, through oversight of the system I continue to push for improvements at the VA facilities Alabama veterans count on.
More on Protecting our Veterans

This legislation will strengthen penalties for those who retaliate against federal employee whistleblowers, add protections and opportunities for whistleblowers placed on probation, and ensure that all federal employees have a greater knowledge of whistleblower rights and protections.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Representative Martha Roby (R-Ala.) today spoke in support of legislation that would secure greater protections for federal whistleblowers and increase penalties against those who retaliate against them.
