Rep. Martha Roby Responds to Situation in Ukraine
State Representative Martha Roby, a Republican, is speaking out about how she thinks the United States should deal with the situation in Ukraine, as that country teeters on the brink of war with Russia, after weeks of protest by Ukraine citizens.
"Well, look we've got things going on all over the world. And as you know from my time serving on oversight and investigation with the Benghazi issue, we have unstable governments all throughout this country right now. And so as the United States we need to maintain, be ever vigilant, and demonstrate leadership across the world. We are the world's super power so we need to be a model for others," said Roby.
In discussions over the weekend with Putin, U.S. President Barack Obama "made clear that Russia's continued violation of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity would negatively impact Russia's standing in the international community," according to a statement released by the White House.
