Press Release

U.S. Representative Martha Roby announced today that Regina Newsome, from Eufaula, AL, is currently serving as a Congressional intern in her Washington D.C., office.

In the office, Newsome is helping with legislative and administrative duties on behalf of the people of Alabama. Newsome is a recent graduate of Troy University, where she received her Master’s degree in public administration with a concentration in public management. When Newsome returns to Alabama she will continue to intern in Montgomery County with the South Central Alabama Development Commission.

While serving, Congressional interns observe and take part in the workings of the United States Congress. Experience gained from these internships help students develop knowledge of the government and various policy issues, as well as professional skills that will be valuable in future pursuits.
