Roby Names Mike Albares Chief of Staff
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Representative Martha Roby (R-AL) today announced she has selected longtime staff member Mike Albares to serve as her Chief of Staff.
In this role, Albares will be Representative Roby’s top adviser, leading her entire team of personnel working from offices in Washington, D.C., Montgomery, Dothan, and Andalusia. Albares, a Dothan native, previously served as Deputy Chief of Staff. He has been a member of Representative Roby’s staff since 2011.
“I am thrilled to announce that Mike Albares has been named my new Chief of Staff,” Roby said. “Mike is an exceptional leader who has served my office and the people of Alabama’s Second District with distinction for more than seven years, and I am confident he will enable my office to continue delivering results on behalf of the people we serve.”
Albares replaces Representative Roby’s former Chief of Staff, Torrie Miller Matous, who this week was named the Director of External Affairs of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB).
“For the last year and a half, Torrie Matous led my office admirably and further ensured we are a team that truly makes a difference on behalf of the people who live and work in Alabama’s Second District. Torrie should be extremely proud of her nearly decade-long career in service to the American people on Capitol Hill, and I cannot thank her enough for her friendship and leadership. She will be missed, but I am extraordinarily proud of her and excited for this next chapter in her career.”
Representative Roby today also announced that Greenville native Casey Rogers has joined her Montgomery office as a Field Representative.
“Since being elected to Congress, I have made it a point to surround myself with capable, driven staff members who help me better serve the people of Alabama’s Second District. Casey brings valuable experience and a strong dedication to the people of Southeast Alabama that make her an excellent addition to my team.”
