Roby: Congress Is One Step Closer to Enacting Pro-Growth Tax Reform
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Representative Martha Roby (R-Ala.) today released a statement upon House passage of the Fiscal Year 2018 Budget Resolution, which contains the framework for the joint House, Senate, and White House tax reform plan.
“By passing this budget today, Congress is one step closer to enacting pro-growth tax reform that will offer much-needed relief to American families,” Roby said. “Our tax reform plan will grow the economy, create jobs here in the United States, and allow hardworking taxpayers to keep more of their money in their pocket. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to deliver on our promise and give the American people the results they deserve.”
The budget resolution passed the House by a vote of 216-212.
On Wednesday Roby joined Ivanka Trump and leaders from the House and Senate to promote expanding the child tax credit as part of the tax reform plan. The proposal would offer meaningful tax relief to middle and low income working parents.
