For about four years now, the Professional Left in Washington has been engaged in a desperate campaign to convince the American people that conservatives are engaged in a “War on Women.” You've probably seen the political ads or heard the rhetoric from television commentators. Their goal is to label anyone who is pro-life and believes taxpayer money shouldn’t be spent funding abortions is “anti-woman.”

The Department of Veterans Affairs has confirmed that former Central Alabama Veterans Health Care System (CAVHCS) Director James Talton and Chief of Staff Cliff Robinson have been given notice of their termination. This week’s action to move forward with termination is a necessary and important step toward instilling accountability at the VA and building trust within the community. I have been traveling throughout Alabama's 2nd Congressional District over the month of August discussing the latest from Washington and, more importantly, listening to my constituents to gain a better understanding about the issues that matter to you. We've been through Prattville, Montgomery, Tallassee, Union Springs, Troy, Luverne, Evergreen, Andalusia, Elba, Enterprise, Geneva, Hartford and beyond. Among the top issues brought up in every town was the growing threat posed by the self-identified Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, or ISIS.
