On December 4, 2013, Represenative Roby accepted a position on the House Committee on Appropriations. Following the announcement, Roby said:
"I am honored to accept a position on the House Committee on Appropriations, and I appreciate the confidence my colleagues have placed in me by selecting me to serve in this capacity. Appropriations has oversight on the whole range of government spending. This new role provides a unique opportunity to push for the kind of conservative spending priorities that will put us on a sustainable financial path for future generations."
Members of the Appropriations Committee are not allowed to hold seats on other committees, excpet in extraordinary circumstances. Due to this rule, Roby is no longer a member of the House Armed Serivces Committee, House Agriculture Committee, or House Education and the Workforce Committee.
Roby's subcommittee assignments will be announced at a later date.
